Powerhouse Arts Artist in Residence (AiR) 2026–2027 Application
Ends on
The Powerhouse Arts Artist in Residence (AiR) program is a paid, six-month residency supporting early-career New York City–based artists in the development and production of ambitious, fabrication-driven projects.
Designed for artists at a pivotal stage in their practice, the residency provides financial support, fabrication and materials funding, studio space, curatorial mentorship, and access to Powerhouse Arts’ fabrication facilities and technical staff.
Residents work collaboratively with fabricators and staff to develop projects from early research and experimentation through fabrication and public presentation.
Applicants are not required to apply with a fully developed proposal. The program values experimentation, material exploration, collaboration, and the development of ideas through dialogue with available resources and technical expertise.
The residency is intended for artists who would significantly benefit from sustained access to fabrication infrastructure, institutional support, and collaborative production processes.
Applications are reviewed through a multi-phase selection process led by curatorial, learning, and fabrication staff at Powerhouse Arts.
